Quote from: "schwimmy"

Regarding kay Dom Vernard, I'm seeing what good he has done for Bene. Daming developments in less than a year pa lang. I won't be surprised nga mas alaga ang mga athletes ng Bene kaysa sa Beda. Sad to say his counterpart sa Beda isn't as a "go getter" as he is. He was the one responsible for all those "San Beda College Alabang" car stickers that I see as far as Ortigas. It's what you call branding, I suggested to him make car stickers na "San Beda" nalang para masama naman ang "Main."

Now with all this good things happening to Bene, this school will be crucial in boosting San Beda's image.

I've seen "San Beda College Manila" stickers, similar dun sa Bene pero reverse ung color, white background and red old english yung font ng letters. I'm not sure however if the stickers are sold in San Beda Manila. It's hard to understand what has happened in some respects in the PR efforts and loyalty reinforcement in San Beda Manila. When I wast in first year college in San Beda, among the first things we wanted to have were school stickers and San Beda tshirts, and not just because yun lang yung shirts na without collar na allowed isuot, we were proud Bedans. There were different stickers (school seals at different periods/era and sizes) and cool tshirts na pede talagang pang casual like the one with "El Colegio de San Beda".

Dom Vernard ba CAS batch 97?

I agree that the positive image/news about Bene will likewise boost San Beda's image. Onwards to San Beda University! Now if only they would get more aggresive and PR savvy administrators in Mendiola, and Bedista din sana para they won't see their work as just a job.

^^ eric beda alabang:

cool pics, it shows the kind of planning and funds available to Bene that allows it to have an impressive school infrastructure. And the graduation pictures, the graduates look good in their red Bedan toga.

^ Dom Vernard is in his 30's na hehehe When I was in college, circa 1997 he was already a Dom and working with human resource.

The San Beda sticker is old i think, with the white letters. We need a new one.

I suggest you also talk to the old alumni. They know the all the cheers, even the classic ones that must be revived.

By the way, Dex if you are a member of this forum, reply ka dito kasi kailangan na naming malaman yong ibang cheers na hindi pa namin alam. Naituro na namin ni Raine sa Pep Squad yung ibang cheers and dances like San Beda Go go, Go San Beda Fight & Indian yell. Hindi kasi kami makapunta ng Beda tuwing Saturdays kasi we(Raine) have saturday classes, Pero kung meron pa kayong practice ng Sat or even weekdays, pede kami humingi ng excuse letter sa prefect... Thanks bro! More power San Beda Cheerleading Assn.!

To Schimmy: It's very nice to look back from your roots, kahit ako napunta pa rin ako minsan sa mga past schools ko like SAn Agustin, Beda Mendiola... Iba kasi yung feeling kung nakikita mo yung progression ng ALma Mater mo, It's very nice to reminisce such things...

Yes I know. You don't see me dissing Bene in my posts lately? Hehehe I'm glad with the changes that are happening. But it seems nandyan pa rin ang mga ibang mga kurakot na walang kwenta, walang kwenta nung time ko up to now wala pa rin kwenta. hehehe

At least I'm beginning to warm up. Wish I could say the same thing to my other batchmates. Deadma as we call it... I developed that craft well in Bene. hehehe

I like going to mass in Bene on Sundays. Nice crowd, aircon ok pa ang choir. And it gets even better when Abbot Ed Africa celebrates mass.

Good thing now they have the statue of Our Lady of Monsterrat. When I look at it, it's my link with San Beda.

The assembly area. How many times were we scorched during flag ceremonies. We were made to sing the Bedan hymn before with matching fists... nababaduyan kami when pinapagawa samin yun. Di namin feel eh.

Ah yes... how many times kami nalalate for the assembly around 7am in the morning. hehehehe Kasi ayaw ng madami na maarawan. Some of us could think of the most creative ways to sneak in school without getting caught tardy. Mag-ala-Mission Impossible ba. hehehe

Oh yeah kung mahina ang kanta ng Bedan Hymn papaulit, much to the malulutong na pagmumura ng mga tao. hehehe

Hi guys, thanks for the commendation dun sa mga photos na pino-post ko... Im trying to take pics sa mga law studs in the library, cafeteria, mga hagdanan and even sa kanilang yosi break, nagbabasa sila ng mga law books, nakakainspire silang tingnan!

^ Of course I know si Sir Cordova. He was our AP teacher back in freshmen year tapos prefect siya nung 4th year kami. He came to my rescue when I was graduating because some of the narrow minded faculty reacted negatively to an article I wrote back in the Philippine Star circa 1996. hehehe

But i don't think kilala pa ako nun. Pramoso? sino yun?

strangers? Well it happens. In my case kasi alam ko ang ugali ng taga-Bene kaya apprehensive ako. When we see people na naka uniform ng Bene parang dating samin, "eeeh stay away" or "maarte nanaman yan." hehehe But since some of you guys are warming up then we should return the gesture. I wish a lot of Bene peeps are like you guys. Alam mo naman culture ng Bene before... aside from being apathetic, we love dissing the school when we were there. After HS graduation, mga friends ko hilig humirit, "Yack Bene!!!!" hehehe But with all the changes, then it's about time that this hatred will die away.

"Once a Bedan, always a Bedan" Parang di mo alam ugali ng taga-Bene, we never used the term back then. Now lang, I hope.

For example, di sabik sa babae nung nasa Mendiola ako. Habang lahat ng kasama mo naglalaway kapag nakakita ng palda, ako deadma. hehehe

Another suggestion, contact chief here sa forums. Samahan ko pa siya on Saturdays sa Bene if he is says yes. Galing ng PEP squad nung time niya, the Indian Yell gave me goosebumps back then.

Hahaha! In fact mas maraming enrolees na babae sa Bene...

Im one of the freshmen studs of SY 02-03 wherein unang pumasok ang mga babae sa Beda, naglalaway ang mag upperclassmen nun sa mga babaeng studs ng Beda, kahit hindi kagandahan pwede na para sa kanila...

By the way ngayon ko lang nalaman, yung palang commercial ng Modess sa Bene pala yun shinoot..."Kayang-kaya, rumampa sa class;kayang-kaya, tumabi sa crush"

Kaya pala nung napapanood ko yun, parang pamilyar yung classrooms nila dun(4th floor St. Bede Hall)... Hahaha! Cheesy

Pati yung "Kay tagal kang hinintay"(ABS-CBN) with Rica Peralejo, Bea Alonzo, John lloyd at Bernard Palanca...

Nakakainis... Linggo-linggo yun, istorbo...
